Hello, Welcome to 4th-grade science; we will be learning about seasons. By learning about seasons, we will understand their impact on our daily lives. As the season changes, we see changes in the weather around us change and the environment around us.
Our objectives for the day are:
-
Could you develop an understanding of the way seasons are created?
-
Developing a recognition of the tilting Earth has to be done to create seasons.
Task:
Students will use a lab stimulation to understand the ways seasons are created. Students will use https://kcos.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/npls13.sci. ess. seasons/why-seasons/ to learn about the positions Earth goes through to complete seasons.
Students then will create a media poster. The students will generate a sign to inform about the positions that make seasons when Earth orbits. Students then will use https://www.smore.com/ to create a media poster to explain the different orbits. Explain the seasons started.
Process:
Students will have a week during the science section of the class to work on their media posters. The students will have 15-20 minutes of class to work and explore the lab stimulation. After, each group will be assigned a season and use a piece of paper as group to develop an outline for their multimedia poster. Once complete their multimedia outline, students will show the draft to the teacher to review and check. Following the check and review, students will get the okay to begin working on their computers. By the end of the week, students will present their posters to the class.
Evaluation:
Students will be evaluated by the teacher on the clarity and accuracy of the information on the media posters. They use proper scientific vocabulary, and their vocabulary—use plagiarism in the explanations. The students will also evaluate each other on their participation in working on the project.
Teks:
4.9.A Earth and space. The student recognizes patterns among the Sun, Earth, and Moon system and their effects. The student is expected to: collect and analyze data to identify sequences and predict patterns of change in seasons, such as a change in temperature and length of daylight, and
